Check Out the Library's New Catalog!

Have you had a chance to explore our new catalog? We want to show you around! Our new catalog includes new search features, such lists of newly purchased materials,  New York Times bestseller lists, a kids catalog and more! You can even sign into your account to change your PIN number, sign up to retain your reading history and to receive SMS/Text messages from the library!


Due to the high volume of calls to the Circulation and Reference desks, some patrons might not be able to get through. If you need assistance and cannot get through over the phone, please email library.circulation@las-cruces.org for item renewal questions or library.reference@las-cruces.org for reference questions and holds. Library Cards

Do you need a library card to access our digital services from home? 

A happy little girl reading a book A FREE library card is available to Dona Ana County, New Mexico residents with a valid photo ID with a current address, or a valid photo ID and a current proof of address, such as a utility bill or lease.  New Mexico residents who live outside of Dona Ana county can receive a free library card with a valid photo ID, current proof of address, and a library card from where they live.  Children and teens 17 years and under must have a parent or guardian sign their application for a card. Parents and guardians must have a library account in good standing in order to sign their child up for a card. A $5 replacement fee is charged if the card is lost, stolen or damaged beyond use.

We’ve added more options for digital resources! Go to the link above and check out RBDigital, Freading and Freegal.  And take a look at our newest additions, TumbleBooks for a ton of new content to explore, including educational and fun kid’s and teen digital books, graphic novels and audiobooks and Kanopy, an award-winning movie streaming service.

Meeting Rooms

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library offers free meeting rooms to local non-profit organizations. To reserve a meeting room please complete an online request.
