Lateral Officer Hiring Incentive: $20,000
With a three-year commitment.

Requirements
Any drug usage since obtaining a peace officer certification will disqualify
Must have current law enforcement certification that is issued or recognized and approved by NMDPS
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a certified peace officer (not including academy time)
Must have never transported illegal drugs
Must not have a dishonorable discharge from the U.S. Military
Must successfully complete all selection process steps
New Mexico certified law enforcement officers preferred
No convictions of domestic violence
No misdemeanor convictions in the last 3 years
Salary ranges between $41,510.26 to $47,620.78
Successfully complete the LCPD Field Training and Evaluation Program (up to 14 weeks)
Successfully complete LCPD Lateral Academy
Twenty years of age
U.S. citizen (born or naturalized)
United States high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid driver's license
Will be required to successfully complete a 1-year probationary period after being hired
