“I am a fourth generation El Pasoan, but lived most of my adult life in Dallas-Fort Worth. My father was a U.S. Air Force pilot, so we moved often while I was growing up. I lived in six different states and two foreign countries before returning to El Paso to begin my post-secondary education at UTEP.

My wife Teresa is a former journalist, editor, and public information director who currently does freelance writing. I have two sons, one who is a firefighter/paramedic in Arlington, Texas, and the other who is a manager in the El Paso budget office. My stepson is currently in graduate school at Tuft's University.

A self-professed desert rat, I love living in the Southwest and around mountains.”
