Join us for a fun-filled day with children's activities, live music, dance performances, a laser show, vendors, food trucks, and much more! Spooky Downtown provides families a fun and safe environment to celebrate Halloween.

Haunted Museum

Slimy and scaly! Creepy and crawly! Explore spooky and gross science at the Museum of Nature & Science with slime, spiders, and more hands-on activities for all ages. Make glow in the dark slime and assemble a skeleton; design a jack-o’-lantern out of clay; decorate gourds to ward off evil spirits with the Branigan Cultural Center; and learn about nocturnal animals in the Nature Center. Costumes welcome!

Family-Friendly Halloween Flick

Pumpkin Splash Patch

From Noon to 3:30 p.m. children ages 4 to 12 will have the opportunity to pick out a pumpkin from the “water pumpkin patch” and decorate it for Halloween. The event is organized by the Parks and Recreation Department. Admission is $3 per child; parents get in for free. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the event and parents of non-swimmers must accompany their children in the water. Call the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center for more information at (575) 541-2782.

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $3 per children, parents free

Zombie Walk

Main Street will once again be home to the walking dead as the Zombie Walk returns for its tenth year. General admission is free, but if you want to enter the zombie costume contest the entry fee is $5 per person or $20 for a team of four or more, registration is at 5:00 p.m. The Walk of the Dead begins at 7 p.m. Trophies for the best costumes in the areas of Best Adult, Best Youth, and Best Group will be announced immediately after. The event will finish the night with a laser show at 8:45 p.m.; the event also features live music by The Beaux Peep Show, Emcees provided by Bravo Mic DJ's, dance performances by local high schools/dance troupes, food trucks, and merchandise vendors.
